Privacy Policy

Holy Ghost Stories is made by Hazefire Studios, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. This policy covers the Holy Ghost Stories app for iPhone and Android and this website, listen.holyghoststories.org.
The short version
- You can listen without an account.
- There are no ads. We don't sell your information or track you across other apps and websites.
- If you make an account, we keep your email, your first name, and what you've saved and listened to, so it follows you to your other devices.
- You can delete your account, and everything with it, from inside the app.
What we collect
Without an account
Nothing that identifies you. The stories you save and how far you've listened stay on your phone.
With an account
- Your email address, to send you a sign-in code. We don't send newsletters or marketing.
- Your first name, to greet you in the app.
- What you've saved and listened to: saved stories and collections, where you stopped in each story, and which ones you've finished.
The app doesn't collect your location, contacts, photos or advertising identifier, and it has no analytics or advertising trackers.
Who helps us run it
A few services handle data for us, only to make the app work:
- Supabase stores accounts and the app's data.
- Resend delivers sign-in code emails.
- Transistor hosts the podcast's audio. When you play a story, your device downloads it from Transistor, which sees your IP address and type of device, as with any podcast app.
- Cloudflare hosts this website.
- Apple and Google deliver the app through their stores, under their own privacy policies.
How long we keep it
Until you delete your account. Deleting it removes your email, name, saved stories and listening history right away; copies in our backups are gone within 7 days.
Your choices
- Listen without an account.
- Clear your listening history: Library, then your account, then Clear listening history.
- Delete your account: Library, then your account, then Delete account.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, or for anything else about your information: info@hazefirestudios.com.
Children
Holy Ghost Stories is for all ages, and children can listen without an account. If a child under 13 would like an account, a parent or guardian should make it with their own email address. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if you think a child has given us theirs, write to us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
